Good St. Dominic's Cat Chapter Eighteen Heaven Has A Party
A celebration started in Heaven. The Holy Spirit exploded into the most beautiful fireworks, as Jesus took on his form of being a human child. All the men and women in Heaven attending the Assembly also became like children. There was much noise and yelling as the angels became beautiful playthings for children. Some angels became balls and some became balloons. Some became musical instruments playing themselves. Some became little toys on wheels that children could run or push or drive across Heaven’s Great Assembly Hall, which now looked like a giant playground.           Jesus, Mary, and Joseph chased the cat that was chasing a big red ball of twine being carried by several little angels who flew in circles around St. Francis and St. Dominic. Before long everyone was wrapped in bright twine. They were laughing and giggling as the father, looking very proud, lifted the Holy Family, the saints, the cat and the little angels into the air raped in one strand of string. He twirled the strand around his head and whoosh! whoosh! whoosh! like a game of crack the whip they each flew off the end of the strand, zooming through the air until they landed in big bouncy chairs at a beautiful table set by St. Anne.           Looking very much like Jesus’ grandmother, which of course she was, she quieted everyone down. Within a minute all the other children and their angelic toys were sitting at tables ready for some special treat. St. Anne and the Holy Spirit, now in the form of young girl in an apron, both whipped up some sweet cakes, cookies and ice treats which were delivered in a flash to every table. For miles and miles one could look across the Great Assembly Hall and see one festive table after another.           St. Anne quieted everyone down for grace. She thanked the One God, who delighted in being the Three Persons of the Trinity and expressed gratitude for the presence of the cat in Heaven, which she told everyone had been named after her husband Joachim, Then Joachim, the grandfather of Jesus, appeared shaking a big noisemaker. The racket he made surprised all gathered at the party, causing them to laugh. Even God the Father, who often was very serious, chuckled a little and started to lead everyone in a song called, “What is That about a Cat.”           At the center table the cat curled in a chair looking very proud of itself. He was seated between Jesus and Mary. Mary said to St. Dominic and St. Francis, “Thank you for taking care of the cat. He is a very special gift and we want you to watch over him. Jesus nodded, “On Earth, he couldn’t stay out of trouble for long. I don’t think he has changed.” At this they got up, said their goodbyes while giving the cat, St. Ann and St. Joachim big hugs.           “Malways munning moff,” said the cat. Then Jesus and Mary went on their way down the spiraling staircase of Heaven back to Earth. They waved at everyone as they went. Many saints and angels, who had business on Earth, followed after them.           St. Francis and St. Dominic watched them disappear into the distance. When the saints looked up they were seated alone with the cat. St. Francis said, “I wish we could go with them. I want to help out on Earth.” St. Dominic agreed. In a blink, the Holy Spirit was sitting next to them. He had on a funny hat that neither Francis nor Dominic recognized. “This is my travel hat,” said the Holy Spirit. “See how it has many different tickets stuck in it. Pull one out.”           St. Francis, who was very eager to go somewhere, pulled out one of the tickets. The Holy Spirit said, “Have fun. Just be back for Christmas.” Then the Spirit disappeared leaving the cat and the two saints standing at the top of the spiraling stairs. St. Francis handed the ticket to Dominic. “Look, we get to go to Spain,” St. Dominic said. “Of course, that depends on when the cat is done with his latest nap.” He pointed to the cat that rolled up like he was pretending to sleep.           It was very quiet now in Heaven. The only sound the saints heard was the sound of the Archangel Michael flying past them whispering in their ears, “I don’t think we know the whole story yet, the story of why there is a cat in Heaven.” The saints nodded in agreement with him because they knew with any of the Father’s plans there would be always be more chapters. The cat opened one eye as he yawned. He said, “No mew smories mow, maybe mater.” The saints had to laugh as they felt themselves being pulled into the Cat’s nap.
